The Role

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Data and Exams Officer to deliver all management information, procedures and processes relating to data and examinations here at Wolgarston High School. The appointed person will be responsible for developing the Management Information Systems to ensure that they support the strategic aims and objectives of the School.


We are looking for someone who is highly organised to meet public examination and internal deadlines, with an exceptional eye for detail and the ability to work well under pressure. The postholder will be personable, proactive and enjoy working with a range of people. The successful candidate will be able to prioritise and have excellent IT literacy, to include Excel, word processing, databases.  


The working pattern for this role is flexible and will be agree with the successful candidate. In May and June, hours will differ to enable the delivery of public examinations. A flexible attitude and commitment to serving our students and colleagues is essential. The role is term time plus 4 weeks, the postholder will be required to work on specific days during the school holidays in mid to late August to support the preparation and delivery of public examination results days. Dates are determined nationally and published in advance, this can be discussed further at interview.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, motivated, hard-working, driven individual who has:

  • Proven database experience with emphasis on reporting and information management
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and DfE secure transfer systems, with working knowledge of SISRA being beneficial
  • Awareness and understanding of policy and procedures pertaining to examinations and Exam Board requirements including experience of using exam board platforms
  • Excellent working knowledge of the operation of data systems and electronic data handling
  • The ability to work under pressure to a high degree of accuracy and meet tight deadlines
