The Role

Marshbrook First School is a warm, inclusive, and community-focused school where every child is valued and supported to achieve their full potential. We are committed to providing a caring, safe, and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning. Our school values—respect, kindness, resilience, and curiosity—are at the heart of everything we do, and we strive to foster a culture where children feel happy, secure, and inspired.

We are currently seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable Out of School Club Playworker to join our extended school support team. In this role, you will work under the guidance of senior staff to help run our after-school club, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children. You will support pupils with their personal needs, encourage positive interactions, and assist with a variety of fun and educational activities. You will also help prepare and tidy the space, support behaviour management, and liaise with parents as needed.

The working pattern for this role is Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:15pm to 5:45pm and Fridays from 3:15pm to 4:15pm.

The successful candidate will have experience working with or caring for children of a relevant age and will demonstrate good communication and organisational skills. A good understanding of basic numeracy and literacy is essential, and a willingness to undertake training—including First Aid and NVQ Level 2—is expected. You should be approachable, adaptable, and committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is looking for a rewarding part-time role in a supportive and values-driven school environment.
